Deepening Your Dive: A Recap of Langham Preaching Nigeria: Expository Preaching Workshop. 4th – 6th March 2024

For three intensive days, Langham Preaching Nigeria hosted a powerful workshop on expository preaching, bringing together both students and pastoral care group leaders. Led by the esteemed Pastor Hankuri Gaya, the event featured a stellar line-up of facilitators, including Rev. Prof. Gyang Pam, Rev. Dr. Illiya Kachalla, and a host of other distinguished figures like Rev Jwan B. Zhumbes, Rev Gideon Para-Mallam, and Rev Chukwuemeka Egbo.

The workshop delved deep into the art of expository preaching, equipping participants with the tools and knowledge to effectively communicate God’s Word. The curriculum covered a range of topics, including:

  • Personal Preparation: Building a strong foundation for preaching through personal reflection and spiritual development.
  • Training Sessions: Interactive sessions honed participants’ skills in biblical interpretation, message construction, and delivery.
  • Model Expositions: Participant were exposed to expository preaching which was done by one of the facilitators using the book of Nehemiah
  • Ushirikas (Fellowship Sessions): Facilitated discussions fostered deeper understanding and allowed participants to share their experiences and learnings.

This immersive experience provided a valuable platform for both aspiring and seasoned preachers to strengthen their craft. Participants gained a deeper understanding of the importance of faithful exposition of scripture, while also acquiring practical tools to transform biblical text into impactful sermons.
